Learn about San Francisco's Castro neighborhood at SF Gate and Uncle Donald's. If there is a parade, fair, or some other similar activity going on in the neighborhood, you might want figure out what type it is before taking your kids. Although it could lead to some interesting conversations.

The Golden 99 cents Zone #1 store is just up the street from the Castro Hotel in Chinatown.

UPDATE: One of the commentors asked which building it was, I believe this picture is of the Intercontinental Hotel, a new 32 story building in downtown San Francisco.
UPDATE2: Its now open.
The old US mint in San Francisco is looking a little rundown with the bums hanging out on the steps. It is the first stop on the Barbary coast trail.
