This is a San Francisco blog, but sometimes things happen in the East Bay that are worth mentioning. Other than that, if you're going to be staying in San Francisco for 3 or 4 months, then you probably want to spend maybe an afternoon in the East Bay just so you can say you've been there.
Anyway, this Barrack Obama guy is running for President in 2008 and stopped by Oakland, here is the crowd, waiting one and a half hours for him to show up:
Obama working the high rollers? I don't know who they are, but they got the good seats.
Giving the speech:
I don't really follow Obama, but he basically said we need to bring the people in Iraq home and spend the money we save on education, veterans, and health care.
